February goals

Like January I have set my self a goal of knitting a pair of socks with Desert Vista Dyeworks sock yarn. The problem is that I have caught a case of castonitis  and I am currently working on three other projects.

I started my Mama Vertabrae for the miss click clack jumper KAL, two squares for the Giant scrap blanket and I have also given my Chevron blanket and wee bit of attention.

For my February socks I am knitting the poodle skirt colourway. And of course I am leaving it to last minute and I have only just cast on the second sock yesterday.

At first I was just planning on knitting one giant square, but then I started thinking how good four large squares would look sewn together so I cast on a second square. This mindless knitting is completely addictive while I watch Crossing Lines.

And my third new project is the the Mama Vertabrae. I'm knitting mine with miss click clack yarn in the Darling Road base in the Silver bear colourway. I love the way the fabric feels.

I am hoping I can stay motivated long enough to finish my second sock. I

January goals

I always start the year with grand plans and then I fail miserably by mid February. So this year I thought I would try something different. I am going to try monthly goals.

So my goals for January are to knit one pair of socks knit with Desert Vista Dye works yarn. I am waiting for my order to arrive, it has been sitting at customs since the 25th of December. My second knitting goal is to knit the Simpatico Wrap by Kristine Vejar.

For the Simpatico Wrap I've chosen Miss Click Clack yarn. The base is Nightman's Highway and the colours are I am the Walrus and Garden Party.

I started on the first of January and it's such fun knitting while I re-watch Nashville.

Whether you have goals for the year ahead or not I wish you all the best for 2017.

Knitting goals

So many people say "New year, New me". And although it's a new year as far as I can tell I'm the same me.

Having said that I do like to set myself goals to meet throughout the year. Most years it's just to knit/craft twelve items which I generally meet, but this year I want to up that.

By the end of the year I want six shawls and twelve pairs of socks/beanies. The socks can be ankle socks but they have to be adult socks and the same goes for the beanies. And although I finished seven pairs of socks this year I do really want a full drawer of socks.

These items can be projects I already have on the needles but they must be finished by the end of the year.

I cast on my first shawl for the year. It's the Pebble Shawl by Helen Stewart and I am using Nightmare's Highway in the Drop Bear Brown colourway by Miss Click Clack. I started knitting it while watching Miss Marple-The Pale Horse. Miss Marple always gets in the mood for knitting.

FO & WIP Friday

I cannot believe it's been two weeks since I last posted. I have been so busy with work and have had very little time for craft, but I did manage to finish a beanie and start two new projects.

I knit the Barley beanie by tincanknits for my DH's Cousins baby. It's a free pattern on Ravelry and super easy to knit. I used Dancing dog dyeworks yarn. I still have plenty of left over yarn for another beanie or toy.

I also cast on another sockhead hat but I haven't made much progress. And I also cast-on another Hitchhiker. I'm using Skein yarn on the MCN Sock in the Modern Romance colourway. I am loving this colourway.

I was hoping to have a super relaxing weekend but Saturday is already filling up with family stuff. I'm crossing my fingers for a sleep-in on Sunday.
Happy Friday everyone!

New Shawl

Out of all my Birthday yarn I wanted to cast on something with my 300gm skein of Ton of Wool. So I ended up casting on the Rising Dawn shawl By Stephen West. Now I love the pattern and the yarn, but together....

When looking at the skein it seemed to have more grey/brown in it. Now it's looking very orange with very few pops of grey. I will keep going and if I don't fall in love with maybe I can gift it to someone.

Birthday goodies

So many goodies to play with, between all my new yarn and books I will busy for quite some time. The only problem I have is what project to start first. I have been looking on Ravelry for a pattern that would suite the Ton of wool 4ply yarn, I'm leaning towards Rising Dawn by Stephen West. I can feel a case of castonitis coming on.

Monkey approves of my new cat shirt from my DB and DSIL.
